Responsibilities
& Responsibilities:
Review multi-state income and franchise tax returns for corporations and passthrough entities.
Lead SALT consulting engagements from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, execution, and timely delivery of services.
Research and analyze state tax issues; prepare technical memoranda and clearly communicate tax positions and conclusions.
Advise clients on filing positions, apportionment methodologies, nexus determinations, credits, and tax planning opportunities.
Respond to notices from state taxing authorities and assist clients with audits and other controversy matters, including voluntary disclosure agreements when applicable.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive, high-quality service.
Support business development initiatives and identify opportunities to expand client services.
Supervise and mentor Senior Associates and Associates; review work product and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and accuracy.
Stay current on legislative and regulatory developments impacting state and local taxation.
Education &
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Accounting.
Active CPA license required.
5+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with a focus on state and local tax.
Strong background in multi-state income and franchise tax compliance and consulting.
