1. Who is responsible for your information
USTaxJobs is operated by Blackden Consulting Limited, Company Number 12946848, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Blackden Consulting Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and is VAT registered.
For UK GDPR purposes, Blackden Consulting Limited is the controller for information collected through USTaxJobs unless another organisation, such as an employer receiving an application, is separately responsible for its own processing.
2. What USTaxJobs does
USTaxJobs is a curated job board for US and international tax roles. Candidates normally apply through an employer or recruiter application link, or by emailing the employer directly. We do not create candidate accounts, host CV databases, or intentionally collect CVs, cover letters, candidate profiles or application materials.
3. Information we collect from employers and recruiters
When an employer or recruiter posts a job, we may collect contact name, employer email address, company or recruiter name, job advert details, location, salary information, specialism, seniority, job type, application URL or application email, billing company name, billing country, billing address where needed, VAT registration information, payment records, payment status, Stripe checkout reference, listing tier, optional company logo URL, and support correspondence.
4. Information we collect from candidates and visitors
We may collect basic technical and usage information such as pages viewed, job views, anonymous apply-click counts, approximate device/browser information, cookie preferences, and messages you send to support. If you email us, we will process the information contained in that email so we can respond.
5. How applications work
When you click Apply, USTaxJobs may record that an apply button was clicked and then send you to the employer's application page or email address. The employer or recruiter is responsible for the application process and for any personal data you provide to them after leaving USTaxJobs.
6. Why we use personal information
We use information to operate the job board, publish and moderate job adverts, process employer payments, provide customer support, prevent misuse, measure job views and apply-click performance, manage billing and VAT, keep accounting records, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service.
7. Lawful bases
We rely on contract where processing is needed to provide paid job posting services, legal obligation for tax, accounting and compliance records, legitimate interests for operating, securing and improving the job board, responding to support requests, preventing fraud and measuring listing performance, and consent where required for optional analytics cookies or similar technologies.
8. Who we share information with
We may share limited information with service providers that help us run the site, including hosting providers, Supabase or database providers, Stripe for payments, email providers, analytics providers where enabled, professional advisers, and public authorities where legally required. We do not sell candidate or employer personal information.
9. Payments and VAT
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details. Stripe may process payment, fraud prevention, tax and checkout information according to its own terms and privacy information. Employer billing and VAT details may be retained for tax, invoicing and accounting purposes.
10. International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we expect providers to use appropriate safeguards such as adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses or equivalent lawful transfer mechanisms.
11. How long we keep information
Job adverts and related moderation records are kept for as long as needed to operate the board, handle queries and maintain a reasonable business record. Billing, invoice, VAT and accounting records may be kept for up to 6 years or longer where required by law. Support emails are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the issue and maintain a record of the request.
12. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, request portability, or withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. These rights are not absolute and may be limited where we must keep information for legal, tax, accounting, security or dispute reasons.
13. GDPR requests
Identity verification may be required before personal data is released, amended or deleted. Certain information may be retained where required by tax, accounting, legal or regulatory obligations.
14. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
